IRVIN VENYŠ (* 1981)

Kromě klasického repertoáru se zabývá také soudobou hudbou a provedl již celou řadu českých i světových premiér, a to nejen jako sólista, ale např. také jako člen mezinárodního ansámblu Ostravská banda. Ve volném čase se pak vydává na multižánrové výlety s Epoque Quartetem, které ho považuje za opravdového "univerzála". K tomu možná přispělo, že vyrůstal na opačném hudebním břehu, bez not postával "u cimbála" a zaměstnával hudební představivost při interpretaci písní našich předků.

Irvin je držitelem mnoha ocenění ze světově uznávaných soutěží (Pražské jaro, Pacem in Terris Bayreuth, mezinárodní soutěž v Markneukirchenu, soutěž Jeana Francaixe v Paříži ad.) a v současně době pedagogicky i akademicky působí na pražské HAMU.

Před deseti lety inicioval a dosud vede mezinárodní mistrovské kurzy a komorní festival Pražské klarinetové dny a je dramaturgem a spoluzakladatelem projektu Koncert proti totalitě.

IRVIN VENYŠ (* 1981)

Alongside the classical repertoire he is also focused on contemporary music, performing a great number of Czech and world premieres, not just as a soloist but also, for instance, as a member of the international ensemble Ostravská banda. In his free time he also sets off on multi-genre excursions with the Epoque Quartet, which he regards as a genuine "all-rounder". This may in part be because he grew up on the opposite bank musically; he has played alongside the dulcimer without notation, drawing on his musical imagination in interpreting the songs of our forefathers.

Irvin holds numerous prizes from world-renowned competitions (Prague Spring, Pacem in Terris Bayreuth, the international competition in Markneukirchen, Paris's Jean Francaix Competition, etc.) and at present carries out teaching and academic work at the Faculty of Music at Prague's Academy of Performing Arts.

Ten years ago he set up the chamber music festival Prague Clarinet Days, where he helms international master classes, and he is also dramaturge and co-founder of the project Concert Against Totalitarianism.
